Learn more about Green Springs
Green Springs is one of Safety Harbor’s oldest residential pockets, north of 2nd Street North and close to downtown. It was platted in 1905. The original neighborhood is known for smaller single-family houses, front porches and early-20th-century bungalow, Craftsman cottage and frame-vernacular designs. Many of its homes were built before 1950.
The street grid includes narrow rear alleys and lots originally platted at about 50 by 120 feet. That gives Green Springs a different streetscape from nearby West Green Springs, where post-1950 ranch homes are more common. The City of Safety Harbor’s downtown plan describes both areas separately.
